Ze Twitter

I love Twitter. I think it's an efficient tool to keep up to speed on news and trends, whether they be on a personal or professional front. It's concise, doesn't feel as invasive as the Book of Faces, and yet still has enough merit to reach many many people.

Twitter makes me laugh (I follow many comedians), smile (my friends and co-workers' are awesome), cry (I hate to break it to you but not all news is good news), snarl (beware of trolls), etc. I learn about what's happening in other libraries, stumble across recipes that inspire, read important discussions about feminism, see what my favourite derby skaters are up to; if it isn't clear, you make it your own.

If you're tired of scrolling through a newsfeed of baby pictures and misinformed political statements, but still want to occasionally sneak a peek online in real time, maybe give Twitter a try. As with any other social media, you don't NEED to tell everyone what you're thinking or doing at any given moment, but I myself can't be stopped ;)

Follow the Moncton Public Library on Twitter to learn about upcoming programs, and other fun little tidbits!
